Much of the locally produced food we eat is picked by migrant workers. These workers leave their families for months at a time and come to Canada to earn money to support their loved ones back at home. They work in jobs that most Canadians pass over due to the low pay and harsh conditions.
We would like to show our appreciation to these migrant workers by putting together care packages for them. This May and June, we will be collecting toiletries and basic first aid supplies. You may place any contributions in the specially marked box at the entrance to the Church or bring them to our monthly meeting on May 28th. Suggested items include shampoo, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, shaving supplies, first aid supplies (such as ibuprofen/acetaminophen, bandages, medical adhesive tape, tweezers, alcohol wipes, antiseptic hand cleaner).
