On October 26, 2010, St. Joseph’s CWL council was established, bringing us into the fold of an organization that is almost 100 years old, and over 99,000 members strong. The installation ceremony of the executive officers was held on Sunday April 13, 2011 and was presided over by Barbara Dowding from the CWL National Council and Roxanne McDonald from the Diocesan Council.
Our Council looks to our patroness, Our Lady of Good Counsel, to intercede and help us continue to grow in our motto “for God and Canada”. We are united with our fellow CWL sisters in pursuing the objects of the Catholic Women’s League, through service to the people of God.
The League Prayer
We humbly pray you, O God our Father,
to bless the Catholic Women’s League of Canada.
Bless our beloved country,
our homes and families.
Send your Holy Spirit upon us
to give light to our minds
and strength to our wills
that we may know and fulfill
Your great law of charity.
Teach us to share with others
at home and abroad
the good things You have given us.
This we ask through our Lord Jesus Christ
and the intercession of our patroness
Our Lady of Good Counsel.
